CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY <br />CIVIL DEFENSE <br />Program Objectives <br />1 Continue the development of a supply and storage system at the civil defense <br />warehouse for all emergency equipment and supplies <br />2. Continue to review and update tsunami evacuation maps. <br />3. Continue the priority of working with all segments of the community in developing <br />emergency -response plans. <br />a Continue to coordinate and participate in emergency preparedness exercises <br />Hospital Exercises 2 <br />School Tsunami Evacuation Exercise 3 <br />Airport Exercises 2 <br />Hurricane Exercises 1 <br />and others as required. <br />b Continue to coordinate and participate in training for emergency response for the <br />following: Orchidland Community Association, Forest Solutions, Waikoloa <br />Community Association, care homes and others as required. <br />4. Review and expand shelter programs for Hawaii County Finalize plans for three (3) <br />schools, Kea'au Elementary, Kea'au High, and Kealakehe High, once construction is <br />completed. <br />5 Continue to administer Office of Justice Program (OJP) Grants for Weapons of Mass <br />Destruction (WMD) Program. <br />6. Continue the development of an emergency response plan with the Department of <br />Water Supply to insure water availability should there be a portion or islandwide <br />power disruption over an extended period <br />7. Complete the County of Hawaii Terrorism Plan (will be an annex to the County <br />Emergency Operations Plan [EOP]) by June 30, 2002 <br />8 Complete the County of Hawaii Hazardous Materials Plan (will be an annex to the <br />County EOP) by June 30, 2002 <br />9 Coordinate the replacement and upgrading of the Kawaihae #1 outdoor warning siren, <br />and the addition of an outdoor warning siren for the Kehena area Plans will be <br />completed by June 30, 2002 <br />Program Highlights <br />Completed printing of 10,000 Hurricane Preparedness Guides for Hawai'i County The <br />State Civil Defense allocated State CEP funds to upgrade eleven (11) outdoor warning <br />sirens through the County of Hawai'i for fiscal year ending June 30, 2000. <br />
