However, more efforts need to be made <br /> to stringently enforce current laws and create new laws to significantly reduce underage drinking <br /> m Hawau. <br /> LEGISLATION -GOAL <br /> Enforce current laws associated with underage drinking with more stringency <br /> and implement new laws to significantly reduce youths access to alcohol and <br /> enforcement. <br /> OBJECTIVE #1 <br /> Increase awareness of the problems and legal consequences of underage dnnlung among <br /> legislators. <br /> OBJECTIVE #2 <br /> Advocate for more stringent underage drurkiug laws. <br /> ACTIVTTIES: <br /> 1. Increase effort to change underage drinking taws. Work together with MADD Youth m <br /> Action Program to advocau for policy changes. Strengthen liquor laws under section 281 <br /> 2. Increase penalties and fines for youth related offenses. Laws need to give a meaningful <br /> effect. <br /> 3. Encourage all schools to show the "Roll of the Dice" ndeo to rhea students. <br /> OTHER AREAS OF EMPHASIS <br /> 1. Further develop a statewide plan to integrate the DOT,ADAD's 1" Lady Imtiative, CRCH <br /> Project PAU. Develop a strategy that best utilizes everyone's resources. [Be mindful of our <br /> roles and what other agencies are doing so that we are working together and not duplicating <br /> our efforts or in conflict of each other]. <br /> <br /> 2. Change our communities' acceptance of underage diuildng. Focusing oa changing the beliefs <br /> of parents regarding the legal consequences of allowing their children to drink alcohol. <br /> Attack attitudes of parrnts. <br /> <br />
