Improve, beautify and maintain the greens, tees and fairways at the Hilo <br /> Municipal Golf Course by <br /> a. Aerating all golf course greens twice a year <br /> Completed firet phase of the aeration project of 19 greens during the <br /> week of October 16-1 S. Second phase of Aeration Program is <br /> scheduled for the week of April 2-6, 2001. <br /> b Verticut and de-thatch all greens every three months or as needed <br /> Completed verticutting of greens in the months of September and <br /> February. Third phase is scheduled for completion during the <br /> second week of May. <br /> c Controlled application of fertilizer and pesticide to greens, fairways and <br /> tees weekly, monthly or as needed <br /> Fertilizere have been applied to 19 greens on a monthly basis. Tae <br /> boxes have been fertilized during the months of August, October, <br /> December, February, and Is scheduled for completion In April and <br /> June. Fairways have been fertilized during the months of September <br /> and January. <br /> d. Controlled application of herbicide to greens, tees, streambeds, ditches, <br /> and course boundaries weekly, monthly or as needed. <br /> Application of herbicide has been done on a BI-monthly basis. This <br /> has proven to be sufficient for controlling weed growth. <br /> e Daily Mowing of greens, tees and fairways; weather permitting <br /> 19 greens have been mowed on a dally basis. Fairways are mowed <br /> on a dally basis. Tee tops are mowed once a week (Thursdays). <br /> <br />
