Subject: Testimony in Suooort of Counri Funding for the "Violence Against Chltdren Unit" In the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney As the Hawaii County Program Director for the Children's Advocacy Center, it is my job to coordinate the civil and criminal systems' responses to child sexual abuse. I have been with the program since it was implemented on the Blg Island in 1989 Over the years, I have worked closely wrth law enforcement, child protection services, prosecutors, and treatment providers It has become very clear to me that If child victims are to have access to our justice system, we must have specialized professionals handling these cases.
