COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br /> Administration Office <br /> Progress in Meeting Program Objectives <br /> FY 2000-2001 <br /> <br /> The following is a summary of our objective status <br /> 1 Reduce Days in Accounts Receivable to 55 days. <br /> For the period July to December, 2000, the days in accouats <br /> receivable is avoraging 92 days. The over 90 days amouat <br /> iacludes 432,235.91 for bills prior to Aprll 1997 peadiag <br /> Corporation Couasel settlement. Also, a November billing of <br /> 4100,000 is sot payable until Aprll, 2001. <br /> 2 Process reimbursement requests for federal projects on a quarterly <br /> basis. <br /> For the period July to December, 2000, we processed 31 requests <br /> for 32 projects. Six projects are new with ao requests to be filed. <br /> 3. Establish a tracking system for all items returned from Finance <br /> Department. <br /> Effective July 1, 2000, a tracking system has bees implemeated. <br /> We are able to target areas of weakaess sad pLa strategic <br /> improvemeat. <br /> 4. Improve the accuracy ofpurchastng and accounts payable documents, <br /> as measured by the number of returned forms Reduce the items <br /> returned by 10%. <br /> For the fiscal year to date, 13 of 2626 coafirmiag authorizatioa <br /> payments (CPA), 18 of 1406 requisitions sad 5 coatract paymeats <br /> were returaed for corrections. <br /> 5. Process paperwork to reduce backlog of vacancies by 15%. <br /> To date, our department has a total of 32 vacancies, which is a <br /> 13.5% less than FY 99-00 actual. <br /> <br />
