Program and Budget R 'w Questionnaire
Page 6
March 4, 1997
Assisted Living
• Medication management to monitor the use of
prescription and over-the-counter drugs of the elderly
• In-home services expansion
• Weekend, evening, holiday service to ensure safety of
frail, homebound elderly
8. Are there other funding sources (e.g. grants, entitlements,
etc.) other than those already in place that could
supplement or enhance programs or services currently
provided? If any, describe the source and why you have
not been able to access the funding.
Many of the private funding sources (i.e., foundations)
are not available to government agencies. However, we
have provided data and technical assistance to many
private agencies in helping them obtain funding
through these sources. Examples are the Hawaii
Community Foundation, the Vierra Foundation, Urban
Mass Transit Act, the Community Development Block
Grant, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
We are currently exploring ways to obtain contracts
through managed care organizations that need to
purchase community-based services through programs
that we fund. These contracts are not yet available.

B. EMPLOYEES
1. List the funding source and rationale for new positions to
be reflected in your FY98 budget.
Not Applicable.
2. List the funding source and rationale for positions to be
deleted in FY98.
Not Applicable.
3. List position reallocations that are planned for in FY98
and the rationale for reallocation.
Not Applicable.
