PROGRAMS <br /> 1. Identify new goals and objectives reflected in your FY98 budget and the rationale <br /> and authority for implementation. <br /> • Provide research and technical assistance necessary to prepare the comprehensive <br /> review of the General Plan and keep data up to date. <br /> Ordinance 89-142, the County General Plan requires a comprehensive review every <br /> ten years. In order to begin the review process, several data bases leading to the <br /> review needs to be up dated. Budget items include $50,000 for general plan update <br /> studies. <br /> • Institute new computerized planning applications, mapping, etc.; standardization of <br /> activities. <br /> Several county agencies have jurisdiction over street names, or have the need for <br /> consistent information on street names. Chapter 23, County Code relating to <br /> subdivision, provide for street naming provisions for new streets. Chapter 22, County <br /> Code relating to streets and sidewalks, also contain provisions relating to street names <br /> and street addresses. We have included two budget items that will provide for a map <br /> data base of streets and street names that will standardize the information. This <br /> includes $16,500 for an inventory and software. <br /> • Implementation of the Geothermal Relocation Program. <br /> Ordinance 97-23 authorizes the expenditure of Geothermal royalty revenues for the <br /> relocations of certain residences adjoining the Puna Geothermal Venture power plant <br /> site. Expenditures will provide for appraisal and transaction consultant services <br /> together with the necessary clerk. <br /> 1 <br /> <br />
