PROGRAM AND BUDGET REVIEW QUESTIONNAIRE <br />HFD VOLUNTEER FIRE TRAINING DIVISION <br />1997 - 98(FY 98)_ <br />1. Same goals and objectives - nothing new for 1998 <br />2. We are currently providing all necessary services and programs <br />that are required by HFD and the Hawaii Insurance Rating Bureau <br />8. Yes - Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) funds have <br />immensely enhanced our Volunteer Fire Program with new fire <br />trucks and fire stations. However, CDBG funds can be applied <br />for only those areas of our Big Island that qualify in low/moderate <br />income areas. <br />1. No funding source listed for new positions <br />2. Yes - We would like to submit a request for a reallocation of our <br />Fire Equipment Operator's (FEO) position to the rank of Captain. <br />rhe responsiblities of the FEO's position in our division equals that <br />of a Fire Captain. <br />'Explanation: <br />a. Our Volunteer Division is comprised of 16 stations and 200 per- <br />sonnel <br />b. Our FEO conducts the monthly training sessions with each company <br />c. Our FEO performs Commercial Driver's License (CDL) requirements <br />which includes driver training, license test preparations, and the <br />scheduling of appointments with the Police Department <br />d.
