No. 35-01 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> TIME: 10:35 A.M. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 35-01, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 35-O1, transmitted by Director of Finance William T. Takaba, via <br /> Communication No. 90, dated January 24, 2001, authorizes the Office of the Mayor to enter into <br /> an agreement with the State Department of Education for a Hawaii DARE/DOE Grant. <br /> The State Department of Education has authorized funding for expenses incurred for manpower <br /> <br /> to teach, implement and provide necessary support for the Drug Abuse Resistance Education <br /> Program in all public and participating private schools within the County of Hawaii. <br /> Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, county departments must obtain the consent <br /> of the council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action to <br /> be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds <br /> or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those <br /> <br /> powers. <br /> Originally heard on February 6, 2001, this measure was deferred pending revisions. <br /> Resolution No. 35-01, Draft 2 was referred to Your Committee via Communication No. 90.1, <br /> dated February 9, 2001 from Finance Committee Chair Aaron Chung.
