Arakaki, Chair ~ ro <br /> and members of the County Council ~ <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> 25 Aupuni Street <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Re: Communication No. 212, Bill No. 62 (Post Harvest Treatment Facility)--Request <br /> for Waiver of Rule 4, 3(b) Requirements <br /> Due to the amount of testimony anticipated with regard to Communication No. 212, Bill <br /> No. 62, relating to the Post Harvest Treatment (Irradiation) Facility, I have determined <br /> that it would be impractical to place the measure on our April 15, 1997 Finance <br /> Committee agenda. Thus, I have called a special meeting of the Committee on Finance, <br /> to be held on April 24, 1997 at 9:00 a.m. in the councilroom, to consider the bill. <br /> However, inasmuch as the scheduling of such meeting will be in strict contravention of <br /> Rule 4, 3(b) of the Council Rules of Procedure ("...bills...shall be placed on the <br /> committee agenda within the next two scheduled meetings" after its referral to such <br /> committee), I am respectfully requesting that a waiver therefrom be granted by you in <br /> order to allow us to properly call such meeting. <br /> Should you have any questions, please feel free to call. <br /> Sincerely, APPROVED: <br /> ~rllx <br /> Aazon S.Y.
