Curtis Tyler, III, HSAC Vice President ~ <br /> SUBJECT: Council Approval of HSAC Officers for FY 1-2002 and HSAC Executive Committee <br /> Nominations to the NACo and WIR Board of Directors <br /> At its May 7, 2001 meeting in Honolulu, the Executive Committee of the Hawaii State Association of <br /> Counties (HSAC) voted to recommend maintaining its current slate of officers and referred its <br /> recommended slate to member counties for approval. The slate recommended by the Executive Committee <br /> is as follows: <br /> Jon Yoshimura President <br /> J. Curtis Tyler, III Vice President <br /> Ronald Kouchi Treasurer <br /> Dain P. Kane Secretary <br /> The Executive Committee further voted to recommend maintaining current Hawaii representatives to the <br /> National Association of Counties (NACo) Board of Directors and the Western Interstate Region (WIR) <br /> Board of Directors and to refer these nominations to member counties for approval. The recommended <br /> NACo Board of Directors nominees are as follows: <br /> Ronald Kouchi <br /> G. Riki Hokama <br /> J. Curtis Tyler, III (Minority-At-Large) <br /> Finally, the Executive Committee's recommended WIR Board of Directors nominee is Jon Yoshimura. <br /> Pursuant to the recommendations forwarded by the HSAC Executive Committee, I request that the Hawaii <br /> County Council vote favorably at its next scheduled meeting to approve the three recommendations shown <br /> above relating to (1) HSAC officers for Fiscal Year 2001-2002; (2) nominees for the NACo Board of <br /> Directors and (3) nominee for the WIR Board of Directors, and further instruct the County Clerk to notify <br /> the HSAC Executive Committee of its vote to approve said nominations. <br /> For your reference, I have attached a letter dated May 10, 2001 from Jon Yoshimura, HSAC President, <br /> referring the aforementioned items to the county councils for their review and approval. <br /> Thank you for your favorable consideration of this request. ~ No' <br /> file No.,~,~,: , <br /> JCT/rf C, O t/ i i,. <br /> Attachment ref, ~o: <br /> ~f.
