BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The Troy Barboza Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Hawaii <br /> has been recognized internationally, and Honolulu has been chosen as the <br /> site for the 2002 International Torch Run Conference. <br /> As many as one thousand law enforcement officers from around the world <br /> will be attending this international conference and the Honolulu Police <br /> Department is asking for our support and participation in the event. <br /> To prepare for this event, the Honolulu Police Department has asked that <br /> we send an officer to the 2001 International Torch Run Conference which <br /> will be held in Wichita, Kansas from October 31 to November 3, 2001. <br /> A monetary donation from the Hawaii Police Athletic Federation will be <br /> used to defray the cost. <br /> <br /> SIGNED : DATE : <br /> e ar ment Head <br /> <br />
