benches are gone, the automatic water bowls are gone, the puppy pens are gore and <br />last summer their veterinarian had the sheet metal removed because it was dirty and <br />some corners were bent. We are now back to a basic pound. Hawaii Island Humane <br />Society owns the filo shelter and they obviously have no interest in the Kona facility or <br />Waimea. All things need repair and up ' ailing, however, they just ripped things out. <br />Vast improvements were made to the Hilo shelter. It's time for a change. Hawaii Island <br />Humane Society has had the contract for 10 years and service has continually gone <br />down hill. West Hawaii needs its own community-based organization. <br />
