As we all Ioaow, the President of the
United States is also concerned about the econoany of this ~Tatiott. ~e should be
especially concerned about our dig Island economy as we ray face a afic c
in unenzployraaent. T~eveloping a senior citizens facility will do wonders for ernployrnent
both in ~dqe construction and in the operation of assisted living facilities. ~1Je shotald be
accelerating any new endeavor, which creates jobs as well as benefits our senior cit~ens<
Fortunately, our country has coarse together more than any tarns I can reanetnber since
@Vorld VJar II, when I was a teenager who then enlisted in the United States ' e Corp.
Congress wi11 be modifying several rules and we will also be chap ' the males in the
State Legislature to deal with this issue. ~e also need to change our procedures tar the
county $overtmaent in Hilo.
