SCHEDULE D <br /> Agreemen[ of Understanding & Compliance <br /> - Project Number: <br /> THIS AGREE~~tENT made and entered ineo by and betvvecn the STATE OF HAWAII by and through its Director of <br /> Transportation, hereinafter referred to as ".State', and the Govcrnmen[aI Unit named in this applieatlon, hereinafter <br /> referred to as "Applicant". <br /> WHEREAS, the National High.vay Safety Act of 1966 (Public La~v 39-56~t) provides Fedcml funds to the STATE <br /> for approved highway safety projects, and <br /> WHEREAS, STATE may make said funds available to various state, county or municipal agencies or Qovcrnmcnu <br /> or political subdivisions upon application artd approval by STATE and the [KITED STATES DEPART~IEN't OF <br /> TRANSPORTATION, and <br /> WHEREAS, STATE is obligated to reimburse the UNITED STATES DEPARTi41ENT OF TR~.NSPORTATION <br /> out of its funds for anv incligiblc or unauthorized czptndituru for which Federal funds have been claimed and <br /> <br /> _ _ payment received, and <br /> WHEREAS, the about name APPLICANT' has submiaed an application for Fcdcral funds for highway safety <br /> projects. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, N CONSIDERATION OF ~vtUTUAL PROb11SES AND OTHER GOOD AND VALUABLE <br /> CONSIDERATION, THE PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> I. Reimbursement of Eligible Expenditures <br /> A.
