Broker, inactive ~O ~ -p
Student, UHH
cn
i
Dear Fsteemad Mpmhprs,
D ~ ~
cn
Thank you for voting against this proposal. I know you do not want the
infamy of voting in favor of an irradiation plant here on our belovod island.
What if there were an accident? Haw would your grandchildren behold
you?
People buying papayas, a health food, will not buy irradiated fruit.
Sick persons needing good fresh papayas will find none. Pooplo who lour,
to visit Hawaii will stop coming here when it becomes like whore they
come from. Please, let us work with what we have, a resource of natural
beauty which will continue to draw visitors from all over the world. l_et
us focus on prosonting the island as a unique place where the community
spirit is in support of the land, shaping it to provide a comfortable place
where folks can obtain renewal just by being here.
Perhaps an open-air market pedestrian mall for visitors arriving in
Hifo would allow an outlet for our craftsmen and farmers, and provide a
draw for tourists. Work with what we leave, and look at what we've got.
Don't make us like everywhere else. Thank you for the opportunity to be
heard.
ALOHA,
Comm.
