As a member of the community that uses this area for sung, fishing and camping, I <br /> support the efforts to protect l~Cohanaiki from the impacts exclusive /resort development <br /> along the coast for the following reasons: <br /> 1. This area is rich in native Hawaiian cultural sites including village areas, sacred/ <br /> ceremonial areas, anchialine ponds, wetlands and trails as well as habitat for endan- <br /> gered plants, birds and reef hsh. <br /> 2. The iand is adjacent to the Kaioko Honokohau ivaiionai Panic anc} ~ ~ZOriit~n of ii has <br /> been designated to be within the Congressionally Authorized Park ooundaries. <br /> 3. The local community as well as visitors enjoy the beach and coastal area as a prime <br /> surfing, fshing, day use and camping spot. <br /> 4.
