23. Solid Waste: The County landfill is located on the mauka side of Queen <br />Ka'ahumanu Highway approximately 2 miles south of Waikoloa Beach Drive <br />intersection. A solid waste management plan will be prepared and submitted to the <br />County for its approval. This will be done prior to or in conjunction with the Plan <br />Approval process. <br />24. Utilities: Electrical and telephone service are available to the property. <br />25. Protective Services: Police protection is provided from its Waimea stations. <br />Response time ranges between 25 to 45 minutes. Waikoloa Beach Resort also has <br />its own private security system that can provide some supplementary support. Fire <br />Protection is provided from the Kohala Coast Fire Station approximately 3 miles <br />north of the subject site along the Queen Ka'ahumanu Highway. Backup fire <br />protection is available from Waikoloa Village and Waimea Fire stations, with a <br />response time of 30 minutes. Emergency medical and paramedical services are <br />also provided by the Hawaii County Fire Department. <br />
