Irradiator
Dear Sir,
Even though I am not in your district I feel compelled to write
Lo you to express my opposition to an Irradiator AND to give you my
reasons, I have to work so cannot make the meeting.
1. I worked on tht; Hyatt Waikola as a carpenter foreman. I
kept a small looseleaf notebook with me to note the almost criminal
workmanship. I was responsible for the work my crew did and more
times than not, we were pushed so hard that we could not do proper
work before the concrete was poured. At one point, the top boss on
the job ordered me face to face to put another wall on a form so they
could pour concrete but: I refused until the rebar was installed. They
were in such a hurry that they did not want to wait for the rebar on
the main shear wall of 7 six storey foundation. Many walls were
poured with big enough Boles to walk through and then covered with
a thin veneer to camoflage the hole. I have a book of about 50 pages
of such entries. What if the Hyatt had been the containment
facility?
Until God does the Building, We should not place a
nuclear radiation facility on our small island.
2. U235 has a halm life of 250,000 years. Shouldn't we be
damn sure about what we are building.
3. Can our sacred cow of Tourism withstand Lhe impact that
our island will be the only one with a nuclear facility. We have a
prosperous community with a bright hope for the future. Are we
willing to risk all this fr,)r a facility that few voters want.
Put The Issue to an Island Wide Vote
83-5608 Middle Keei Road. Capt.
