X002, that took <br /> place at the Ice Summit Convention at the Outrigger Waikoloa here on <br /> the Sig Island. You had given me you card and had told me to contact <br /> you regarding working with your department about some issues and <br /> loopholes within our Medical Marijuana laws. On August ~8, ~oo~, I <br /> telephoned your office and left a message with Wendy, with a request <br /> that you please return my telephone call. As of this day, September 5, <br /> 2002. I have not received a returned telephone call from you or your <br /> office. I understand that you have a list of responsibilities and that yot ~ <br /> have to prioritize your tasks at hand, but when you give me your card <br /> and tell me to contact you it would be good to at least acknowledge <br /> that you got my message and that you would be getting back to me at <br /> amore convenient time. <br /> The reasons 1 am writing are a few. I would ask you again to please <br /> respond to my inquiries. I) According to Lt. Henry Tavares, Hilo Vice <br /> Section, he had sent a letter to your departi~ncnt regarding an Ordinance <br /> here in I Iawaii County. In March of 20o I , the Hawaii County Police <br /> Department had agreed to accept Federal Funding of a Marijuana <br /> Eradication Grant, with the acceptance of this grant, Hawaii County <br /> Police Department had a few conditions set forth by our Hawaii County <br /> Council. A number of the conditions set forth have boon met, with the <br /> exception of condition ~5, which specifically reads: The County Polico <br /> Department shall work with the State Department of Health and the <br /> State Department of Attorney General to develop a plan where a portion <br /> of the confiscated marijuana can be set aside for medical marijuana <br /> use. At the Hawaii County Council meeting held August 13, 2002, in <br /> <br /> which I attended, Lt. Henry Tavares responded to the question asked <br /> by Councilman Curtis Tiler III regarding condition # Lt. Tavares <br /> responded with the answer that a letter went out to your department - <br /> along with one to the Department of Health regarding this condition that <br /> <br />
