However, due to the mounting evidence that the use of such <br /> irradiation process is dangerous, mainly due to contamination of water, <br /> land because of leakage or spills during shipment, containment or <br /> negligent usage, I urge the Cauncil to look to other benign methods for <br /> fruit processing. 1 feel that this sets a dangerous precedent for the <br /> County and in the long way may end up in disaster that we would be better <br /> off avoiding in the first place.
