I would like to add my support and ask for yours in
helping to establish an irradiation treatment facility in Hilo.
I am an anthurium producer and exporter of tropical flowers and
foliages. I have been doing this since 1964, just as the technology of
jet aircraft opened the market of the world for our cut flowers and
foliages. I envision that an irradiation treatment facility in Hilo will
have a similar marketing impact for our fresh fruit industry.
Our diversified agriculture can develop a competitive advantage only
if we are able to utilize available technologies. What jet airplanes did
for flowers in the sixties, irradiation can do for this island's tropical
fruits in the year 2,000 and beyond.
Please vote YES on April 24th.
Respectfully,
GRE PO NT URSE ES, INC.
Harold T.
