The Council will consider draft 2 of the Resolution and the Committee's recommendations at its September 3, 1997 meeting. In preparation for this meeting, we would like to request the assistance of your office in addressing some of the questions that arose during the Committee meeting. Council Member Ray requested advice on the implications of the proposed amendment from representatives from the Corporation Counsel's Office, the real estate or appraisal industry, and the Department of Public Works. (See pages 12, 22, and 31 of the minutes.) Further, Council Member Chung asked whether any benefit would be derived for landowners, subject to County condemnation actions, if the County were to purchase their properties rather than acquiring them by condemnation. (See page 31 of the minutes.) Your assistance in securing the presence at the Council meeting of a representative from your office and any experts from the real estate or appraisal industry, as you believe would be helpful and appropriate, would be greatly appreciated.
