The United States Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service's Soil Survey <br /> <br /> of the Island of Hawaii identifies the soil type as being in the Keaukaha series, well- <br /> <br /> drained, thin organic soils overlying pahoehoe lava bedrock. runoff is medium and <br /> <br /> erosion hazard is slight. <br /> <br /> 16.
