situation where the end of the month rush comes at the same time when the early <br /> birds from the next month mail in their renewals during the same time frame. It <br /> seems we get caught more and more in this backlog situation. The clerks work on <br /> mail when there is no lobby traffic, so everyone in this office is constantly busy. <br /> The volume is at the level where we will fall back some time during the month, <br /> every month. We can only offer compensatory time off, because our overtime <br /> <br /> budget was exhausted by the first quarter. So far, the staff has been great about <br /> <br /> working overtime, although it is difficult for the supervisors to be trying to staff <br /> <br /> all stations when there is so much compensatory time earned. <br /> <br />
