EXHIBIT 4 <br /> BUDGET <br /> <br /> I. NATIONAL DARE OFFICERS ASSOCIATIOI~T CONFERENCE <br /> A. Two officers to attend this conference to gather current information, <br /> techniques, and ideas from other law enforcement agencies, educators, <br /> and organizations. <br /> B. What is acquired during the conference will be brought back to other <br /> officers statewide and to the approximately 18,000 students that DARE <br /> reaches annually. <br /> C. The conference consists of approximately 55 workshops presented by <br /> experts from all fields in health and substance abuse prevention and <br /> education. <br /> Airfaze, per diem, ground transportation and registration fees for 2 <br /> officers to attend the 10th Annual National DARE Officers Association <br /> Conference, July 7-11, 1997, Salt Lake City, Utah. <br /> TOTAL ALLOCATED $4,600.00 <br /> II. DBE MENTOR OFFICER TRAINING <br /> Airfaze, per diem, ground transportation and registration fee for one (1) <br /> officer to attend the DARE Mentor Officer training session in September <br /> of 1997 at the DARE Western Regional Training Center, Los Angeles, <br /> California. <br /> TOTAL ALLOCATED $1,600.00 <br /> III. TEAM DARE SUMMER LEADERSHIP CAMP VII <br /> A. The leadership camp will be provided to students island wide. Upon <br /> completing this training, the students will return to school to serve as <br /> role models to others. <br /> B. The curriculum is designed to focus on positive alternatives to drug use, <br /> gangs, and violence. It also deals with developing leadership skills, <br /> positive self-image, and wellness in life. <br /> <br />
