12/23/2003 13:42 8083349495 NUTREX PAGE 01
Marty & Donaa Hansen
74=5051 A Malia PI.
Kailua-Kona, Hi. 95740
(808) 329-3618 ~ ~ ' ` t
hansenaloha(a~iuno.com '03 DEC 23 Pfd 1 ~2
COQ, ~ ~_,!_':~_I;,. .
Dear Hawaii County Council, C(/03~1= !-~^~1^J,".II
~c
This letter is in regards to the proposed development at Ooma, • `
(also know as "Pine trees")
My family have been Hawaii residents for the past seven years and we were
shocked to Snd out about the proposed high rise resort building
In the Ooma beach area. I want to state that I am 100% against this
Development as I feel very strongly that there is not near enough
infrastructure in place to support this additional growth in the Kona awea
also, it would be a great loss of a wonderful beach & camping area.
Not to tell ,you hotiv to do your job, but, in all respect shouldn't yon consider
working on the streets and raadt~ to ease the already huge traffic problems? .
I would also like to encourage you to propose several new parks and
camping areas on the Kona side of the J3ie Island whereas more families
could have a place to go and children/teens could have things to do. Could it
be possible that if you put more t`nnds into more family recreation the "Ice"
and other drug problems would bo down?
Maybe we would gee less street dirag racing (And fatal accidents)
if there could be a place to auto t•ace legally.
Please, do not get me wrong, There have been great improvements in
Available parks & ball fields etc.. (l..ike the huge improve~onents at the "Old
Airpiort") I just want to say that our community still needs more.
We need to support the existio; lwpulation that is already living herein
beautiful Kona with better and more ra:tds. We also need to give our Kona
youth more safe places to go before we even consider building any more
resorts an the Kon: boast.
7Chank Xou, Sincerely
X7 ours; Marty Hansen
/fi' ~
~ Comm.
