This was an example of extremely poor planning. (And

thank you very much for the park that never materialized!) Also, it would be nice

to have additional access to Queen Kaahumanu Highway. It is now nearly
impossible to make a right turn from Nani Kailua onto Queen "K" Highway until

the stoplight changes. Yesterday morning I counted 14 cars backed up waiting
to get out of the subdivision-which means waiting through a couple of lights.
I think the plan to mitigate traffic and provide "alternative access" by improving
Heinaloli Road to Nani Kailua Drive is a poor and short-sighted solution. It
doesn't make sense that an access road to the south is going to be used by a
subdivision to the north, when most destinations in Kailua-Kona are to the north.
I'm afraid it would just become a convenient short-cut for traffic to and from
Holualoa, and turn Nani Kailua Drive into another Royal Poinciana, with all of the
related problems. The developer(s) should be required to provide separate
access to Queen "K" Highway, not turn our subdivision into a freeway.
Thank you for considering my input.
Sincerely,
Peggy J.
