County Prosecution Offices <br />In a DAG report titled, Murder in Hawaii 1992-1997, (June 1998), there were 280 <br />reported murders in the state during this six year period, of which 68 were "domestic violence - <br />related". Under the definition applied to this phrase, the report includes as "domestic violence - <br />related murders" those which resulted from either child abuse or domestic arguments. To more <br />objectively compare statistics over time and/or between jurisdictions, the Crime Prevention and <br />Justice Assistance Division has calculated the rate of domestic violence murders.
