Do not approve this project for the following reasons: ~ <br /> _.s <br /> o <br /> 1) MORE DEVELOPMENT ON ALIT DRIVE MEANS MORE CARS AND MORE CARS MEANS THAT <br /> PEDESTRIANS AND BICYCLISTS WILL BE AT A GREATER RISK OF BEING KILLED. <br /> 58 more homes mean an additional 116 can (2 cars per household) and an additional 693 <br /> trips (116 can d~ 6 Mps per day) along AIR Drive. More development always means more <br /> cars and more can on ARi Drive means that pedesMans and bicyclists are at a greater risk <br /> of being killed. We had a recent pedestrian death this year and several pedestrian deaths <br /> over the last several years on AIR Drive all because of vehicles. Enough aheady! <br /> 2) LUNAPULE ROAD AND ROYAL POINCIANA DRIVE ARE ALREADY OVERBURDENED WITH <br /> TRAFFIC. <br /> When the council voted to close off a very important mauka makai route through Kahakai <br /> Estates back In December 1998 they failed to inform the 100 people who attended the <br /> hearing that they had already approved several supersized condominium projects along <br /> AIR Drive which sprung up soon offer. Traffic from these projects continues to heavily <br /> impact both Lunapule and Royal Poinciana today. Both old roads were not built to handle <br /> the 5000 plus vpd that hovel them. Lunapule doesn't even have shoulders for pedestrians <br /> and residents on both roads have a dffftcuff time exffing from their driveways due to the <br /> increased haffic. Allowing more development along AIR Drive pours even more traffic onto <br /> Lunapule and Royai Poinciana. Be responsible. Do not approve this project. <br /> 3) THE TRAFFIC PROBLEMS CREATED BY THIS PROJECT ARE MUCH MORE SERIOUS THAN THE ONES <br /> CREATED BY THE NANI KONA AINA PROJECT. This means that ff you are going to vote <br /> against approving Nani Kona Aina then you must do the same for Lehua loot.
