This is the rezoning request of Clifto's Kona Coast <br /> LLC to change their existing zoning of MG3a to a Project District on their 83 acre highway parcel which <br /> is located on the South side of the Natural Energy Lab of Hawaii. We understand this is on your County <br /> Council agenda for Apri121, 2004. <br /> As our elected representatives, we strongly urge your approval to this zoning change for numerous <br /> reasons that aze extremely beneficial to our community, you, your families and most importantly your <br /> constituents. <br /> We feel that Kona, North Kona and South Kohala aze in desperate need of alternative choices for <br /> housing, goods and services. We all aze aware of the current, continuing and increasing traffic problems <br /> in West Hawaii and feel that if given a viable alternative, we will gratefully embrace it and use it. The <br /> concept of providing substantial goods and services six miles North of Kona is most appealing and <br /> extremely logical. The equitable distribution of goods and services will greatly enhance our lives. <br /> There are literally thousands of people who live in this azea and have no choice but to drive into Kona <br /> for their needs. No other choices at all! Just think of the thousands of cazs that will no longer drive into <br /> Kona and impact the only two roadways. The impact this project would have on the traffic issues and <br /> quality of life for us is immeasurable. Everybody wins! We also support Clifto's Kona Coast LLC's <br /> offer to provide 20% of his multi-family units to be deemed `affordable housing' which is double the <br /> requirement. This will greatly assist the many needy families with their battle in the ever increasing cost <br /> of living in Hawaii. <br /> Again, we need your help to improve our lives and the lives of the people of Hawaii whom you have <br /> been elected to protect and represent. With all the residential projects totaling thousands of units that <br /> have zoning in place and are going to be built in the very neaz future in West Hawaii, we need your <br /> support to approve this project so we can have a better choice for our vital goods and services.
