Bicycles must share the narrow shoulder with pedestrians, which make for a <br /> very hazardous situation when vehicles are a part of this mess. Yet, the majority of <br /> you have irresponsibly allowed this applicant to "GET AWAY W ITH IT" by not <br /> requiring'nim to address pedestrian and bicycle safety in his Traffic Study. <br /> How comet <br /> Plus the majority of you keep ignoring the fact that when you approve more and <br /> more multi-family units along Alii Drive, you are adding more and more pedestrians <br /> to its shoulders and more of them want to cross the street in order to get to the <br /> beach. Yet, you don't provide a crosswalk but rather widen the street to 3 lanes <br /> instead to make it even more difficult and dangerous for pedestrians to get across. <br /> Thanks a lot for being so ignorant to pedestrian safety. <br /> One solution that you should seriously consider is requiring that the applicant do <br /> right turns in and out of their property ONLY. That is just one solution that would help <br /> with pedestrian and bicycle safety. There are other solutions, but you have <br /> basically screwed up on all of the condos that you have approved already thanks <br /> to your lousy and inept planning techniques.
