Part of the traffic problem is the after work traffic exodus leaving Kailua-Kona. If we build more in town, people stay in town and travel less. People that are in town can utilize the conveniences of public transportation and enjoy being near Kailua-Kona's resources. Traffic is anticipated in town and those who choose to live in town know that it is the trade for enjoying its conveniences. 2. In Kailua-Kona, inventory is low for single family homes and being in a safe area that is close to town is not easy to find. Lack of inventory is driving an increase in prices. 3. Our community thrives off of jobs that help to support our local economy. Lehua Lani will create more job opportunities and support existing businesses. 4. I would rather see single family homes built off of Alii Drive versus more multi family high density condominiums. We support the Lehua Lani project and hope that it will be passed!
