I am aware that
presently the notices of meetings are issued in the Hilo and Kona paper.
I wish to point out that these are not the most widely distributed papers
in the Pahala area. Access to these papers are minimal Tbere is only
one location in which you can buy these papers and the eumber
available sre limited.
I am requesting that any decision regarding the changing of the zoning
for the Hester Farm be tabled until reasonable notification be given by a
widely distributed (one is sent to every home) newspaper i.e, The Ka'u
Calendar. If the people are to participate in their government then
reasonable notification must be given. This is a very serious and grave
issue and effects the future of our farming community. We want to
participate in a discussion.
In this area (Pahala and Na'alehu) there is one newspaper that is
distributed to all the residents - It is put into every box in the village. I
am requesting tbat notices be put in these papers as this is the mostly
widely distributed written communicatioe in the area.
Resp lly, -
Sherrian Witt,
Comm.
