1.2 RELATIONSHIP TO OTHER PLANS <br />1.2.1 General Plan <br />One purpose of the Hawaiian Paradise Park Community Master Plan is to serve as an <br />implementation tool and guide for the next revision of the General Plan of the County of Hawaii <br />This Master Plan is not intended to supersede the next revision of the General Plan nor pose <br />additional developmental controls; rather, its function is to guide land use actions by both the <br />public and private sectors. <br />This Master Plan is not a regulatory measure, however, it is a guideline for future revisions of the <br />County General Plan and should be used as a guide in making future land use decisions. It is not <br />a zoning map. <br />1.3 AREA DESCRIPTION <br />1.3.1 Summary of Important Characteristics <br />Proiect Area Location: See OBJECTIVES; 1. 1, paragraph 2 <br />Proiect Area Boundaries and Size: Area boundaries are those described as <br />the Hawaiian Paradise Park Subdivision in Puna District stretching from <br />State Highway 130 northeast to the shoreline. <br />Total Area: approximately 10,000 acres <br />Climate: Tropical Climate with average annual rainfall of 160 inches, <br />average annual temperature of 75 degrees. There are two significant <br />climatic variations within the area: <br />Coastal Area: Generally hotter and dryer. <br />
