By bringing increased foot traffic to the down-
town area, general feelings of desertion and decline will be alleviated and those associated with the
college will have easier access to shopping, restaurants and entertainment. The existing businesses will
gain economically and the increased number of customers will attract new businesses.
Downtown Hilo has suffered from a recent exodus of businesses due to the development of new retail
and professional areas. The move would revitalize a sluggish local economy which is greatly in need of
economic stimulation.
Again, I wholeheartedly support moving the College to Downtown Hilo and ask that the County Council
do so as well. Should you have questions, I can be reached at 935-6006.
Sincerely
. `/~r~~s~:`( cam. 2. ~ S.
