5. 20-acre parcels must be protected because they will offer the potential
to people (hopefully local) to create viable business and community
enrichment because they are a minimum realistic size for agriculture
as a livelihood.
6. These 5 acre parcels are developed not for people in Ka'u but for
people who live far away who were farmed by realtors.
7. Have the Hesters demonstrated that five acres is large enough to
compete in agriculture, especially if 15 or 20 other neighbors are
doing it.
8. The incentive is so obvious it could block the sun. Pure financial gain
for those few who seem to favor it at the expense of what they do not
seem to comprehend.
9. Finally, this is a gang of friends good old boys who have
conspired to make money in the belief that the government bodies
who are charged with protecting our Islands for the good of all can be
hoodwinked.
The only reason Hester claims 20 acre parcels would be "only for the
rich" is because he has taken the land with one intention sky-hiking the
cost of the land and selling it for his profit. How Hypocritical!!
If this land deal is allowed, how will anyone control development
around Ka'u in the far more appropriate places than Nester's??
Very concerned citizens
p.s. This verifiable information will certainly be circulated, and if this

property is down zoned, committee members will be taken to task.
cc: James Arakaki
Mike Tulang
Dr. Fred Holschuh
Aaron Chung
Gary Safarik
Robert Jacobson
Joe Reynolds
Lenigrad Elarionoff
The Ka'u Calendar
