REQUEST: <br /> Amendment to Ordinance No. 04-75 to increase Federal appropriation by $6 <br /> million for Kuakini Highway Improvements, Palani Road to Hualalai Road. <br /> Work to include widening Kuakini Highway within the project limits, <br /> concrete curb/gutter/sidewalk, paving, drainage improvements, retaining <br /> walls, traffic signal improvements, and utility relocation. <br /> Additional appropriation is being requested to cover anticipated <br /> construction bid amount, cost of construction engineering/management, <br /> and possible future costs such as increases in utility costs and change <br /> orders due to unforeseen conditions. <br /> <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND SUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> Bids were received on April 15, 2004.
