Sep 1 Deadline for filing dedication petitions <br /> HOMEOWNER EXEMPTION Dec 31 Deadline for filing exemption claims <br /> Jan 1 Real property is assessed <br /> The home exemption is deducted from the Jan 20 Second-half tax bills mailed to owners <br /> gross value of your property to help reduce the Feb 20 Second-half tax installment due date <br /> net taxable value for the property. The basic Mar 15 Assessment notice mailed to owners <br /> home exemption is $40,000. For homeowners Apr 9 Deadline for filing assessment appeals <br /> 60 years & older, additional exemptions are Jun 20 County Council establishes tax rates <br /> available. <br /> TIMELY PAYMENTS <br /> You are entitled to the home exemption if you <br /> own & occupy the properly as your principal Payments must be POSTMARKED on or before <br /> home. The ownership of your property must be the due date listed above. Please remit your <br /> recorded at the Bureau of Conveyances on or payment with the bottom portion of the tax <br /> before December 31 preceding the tax year for bill. There is no grace period.
