COUNTY OF HAWA~' STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 236 (~4 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH A <br /> MASTER DEVELOPER TO DEVELOP THE WAIKOLOA MASTER PLAN AFFORDABLE <br /> HOUSING PROJECT. <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii owns approximately 268 acres <br /> of land in Waikoloa, South Kohala, Hawaii, further described as <br /> TMK: 3/6-8-02:26 and 3/6-8-30:179. The property is zoned RS-10 <br /> and is undeveloped and is also known as the Waikoloa Master Plan <br /> (WMP) affordable housing project; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii has determined there is a <br /> need for the development of affordable units in West Hawaii; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, it is the intent of the County of Hawaii to <br /> procure a master developer with a Request for Proposal process <br /> and enter into an agreement to develop the WMP; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County will seek the approval of the Hawaii <br /> County Housing Agency to initiate any affordable housing <br /> programs within the WMP; and <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 13, Section 2-75, Hawaii <br /> County Code, as amended, provides that the County Housing <br /> revolving fund may be used to pay for contractual services and <br /> other related front end costs related to the development of <br /> housing; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County desires to use its County housing <br /> revolving fund to pay for the costs of and any related costs to <br /> administer a development agreement. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY <br /> OF HAWAI I, that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii or, in his <br /> absence, the Acting Mayor or authorized representative, is <br /> hereby authorized to execute an agreement with a master <br /> developer to develop the Waikoloa Master Plan affordable housing <br /> <br /> project. <br /> <br />
