JAN-19-2004 10:18 PM -iRGEFlNN JOHNSN 80° 38 5817 P. 01
Jan 20, 2004
To the County Council Members;
As residents of Waikoloa Village, we would like to share with you our input regarding the
O'oma II -North Kona Town Center project.
Unfortunately, due to the daily tnlfTic congestion between 3:00 and 6:00 PM, we are forced to
limit our travel into Kona. We feel Uris project would bring other services, shopping and
entertainment options closer to those living or visiting in North Kona and Kohala It would
remove some of the congestion by giving people an option of not having to drive the extra 10 -
15miles into the besot of town. By having less traffic, other residents would then be less
concerned about the time of day to travel into Kailua-Kona and enjoy the services already
established there.
Drum our standpoint, we will be more likely to drive into Kailua in the early evenings for dinner
and shopping knowing the traffic load has been spread out in the Kailua- Kona area.
It must be obvious W anyone who has ever tried to navigate the traffic in Kailas that giving
people in North Kona end the surrounding areas an option to shop closer to town is a sound
alteniativc. Our Island is gelling evermore popular -this project will demonstrate our
willingness to serve better our residents and visitors alike.
.
Mahalo for your time and consideration,
~'1~---- - - ~ ay -
~i 31~ _
Save and Georgeann Johnson ~ ndl Y r
68-1873 Malina PI ~
Waikoloa, III
(808)883-8111
J
We feel the benefits of this project far outweigh the drawbacks.
Comm.
