COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 23~ U4 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br /> <br /> AGREEMENT WITH THE RESEARCH CORPORATION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF <br /> HAWAII (RCUH), PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR THE HIRING OF THE BIG <br /> ISLAND JUVENILE INTAKE AND ASSESSMENT CENTER PROJECT <br /> COORDINATOR <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii Department of Health Child and Adolescent Mental Health <br /> Division has awarded a grant to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney for the establishment of the Big <br /> Island Juvenile Intake and Assessment Center (BIJIAC); and <br /> WHEREAS, the BIJIAC is amulti-agency effort that seeks to provide a single point of entry for <br /> intake, assessment and case management of delinquent and at-risk youth; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney will be pass on the project funds to the <br /> Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii (RCUH) for the hiring of a Project Coordinator to <br /> manage the creation of the BIJIAC; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county departments obtain <br /> the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting <br /> action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any <br /> funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those <br /> powers. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> that the Office of the Mayor is authorized to enter into a Contract Agreement with the Research <br /> Corporation of the University of Hawaii (RCUH). <br /> <br />
