Approval of these requests would not be contrary to the prevailing General <br /> Plan and Zoning Code <br /> <br /> Since the rezoning was approved for the site in 1989 and amended in <br /> 1992, there have been no changes to the General Plan affecting the subject <br /> property or immediately surrounding area. All improvements consistent <br /> with the prevailing Zoning Code standards, such as setback, height, <br /> parking, and landscaping will be complied with. <br /> <br /> 3. Approval of these requests would not be contrary to the original reasons <br /> for granting of the requests for the rezoning ordinance, as amended. <br /> In recommending the approval of the rezoning request, the Planning <br /> Director and Commission discussed the project's relationship to the <br /> General Plan, zoning ordinance, and other policies of the State and <br /> County. In summary, the Director and Commission concluded that the <br /> proposed request or development <br /> <br /> • Was consistent with the General Plan LUPAG map, Kona Regional <br /> Plan Land Use Concept map, and the Kailua Village Design Plan; and <br /> <br /> • Had all of the essential infrastructure <br /> <br /> A full description of the findings and relationship to the General Plan are <br /> found in the permit, a copy of which is found in Exhibit F. You will find <br /> that the reasons for the approval of the rezoning request are still valid <br /> today. Accordingly, approval of this extension request would not be <br /> inconsistent with the original reasons for approving the rezoning <br /> ordinance. <br /> <br /> In light of the above, the applicant respectfully requests your favorable <br /> consideration and processing of this time extension request. We also respectfully request <br /> your acceptance of this letter request as being in fulfillment of the annual report <br /> requirement outline in Condition K. <br /> <br /> Please find enclosed twenty (20) copies of this letter request with enclosures, a list <br /> of surrounding property owners, the real property tax clearance, and the filing fee of <br /> $250. <br />
