GRANT PERIOD RESULTS: <br /> <br /> (FINAL REPORT) <br /> • T-shirt prize giveaways were conducted on the two major radio stations in the <br /> South Hilo and Puna Districts. Giveaways were conducted during the National <br /> Click It or Ticket mobilizations. <br /> • Four "Click It or Ticket" 3 on 3 Basketball Tournaments held: <br /> o November 15-16, 2003 at the Keaau High School Gymnasium in the Puna <br /> District. <br /> o May 8-9, 2004 at the Kekuaokalani Gymnasium in the Kona District. <br /> o May 22-23, 2004 at the Papaikou Gymnasium in the South Hilo District. <br /> o August 19-22, 2004 at the Papaikou Gymnasium in the South Hilo <br /> District. <br /> • 266 basketball teams consisting of 1401 youth participated in the four events. <br /> Approximately 4000 people attended the events. <br /> • Obtained over 2800 pledges from youth and adults to wear their seat belts and <br /> ensure that all occupants of vehicles operated by them are seat belted. <br /> • A "Click It or Ticket" t-shirt design contest was held at Keaau High School and <br /> twelve entries received. The t-shirt design was selected from this contest. 1882 <br /> "Click It or Ticket" T-shirts were issued to participants, volunteers and <br /> coordinators of the events. <br /> Issued 120 customized "Click It or Ticket" medals to placing teams in each of the <br /> eight divisions. <br /> • Conducted "Click It or Ticket" presentations at the event, to include two live <br /> radio remotes (one of which was conducted from a TEU seat belt checkpoint), and <br /> one opening ceremony conducted by radio disc jockey "Gumby" at which all <br /> tournament participants attended. <br /> • The tournament was conducted in partnership with the Hawaii County Police <br /> Department Traffic Services Section, Traffic Enforcement Unit, Community <br /> Policing and HI-Pal staff, Department of Health, Keiki Injury Prevention <br /> Coalition, HATCH, Keaau High School Key Club, Keaau High School Audio <br /> Class, St. Joseph High School Cheerleaders, Hawaii Warriors Athletics, New <br /> West Broadcasting and Pacific Radio Group. Over 60 volunteers participated. <br /> • "Click It or Ticket" posters placed in 40 schools island-wide. <br /> • A coordinated media event, including live radio remotes, press releases, and <br /> "Click It or Ticket" commercials was conducted in conjunction with the events. <br /> <br />
