APELE <br /> PHONE: 961-2305 <br /> NOVEMBER 21, 2003 <br /> MEDIA RELEASE <br /> Eighty-five basketball teams, composed of 400 youths aged 6 <br /> through 17, competed in the "Click It or Ticket" 3-on-3 <br /> Basketball Tournament held on Saturday, November 15, and <br /> Sunday, November 16, 2003, at Keaau High School Gymnasium. <br /> In the 8-and-Under Division, Warriors upended Garden <br /> Exchange 11-1 for the championship. Stingrays finished <br /> third. <br /> In the 9-10 Division, Warriors Blue 1 ran away from <br /> Warriors Silver 11-2 to claim the title. Warriors Blue 2 <br /> finished third. <br /> In the 11-12 Division, Eastside Playaz ousted the Cougars <br /> 15-7 in the title game. Gameboyz 2 finished third. <br /> In the 13-14 Division, Kamehameha edged Stingrays 8-6 to <br /> win the division. Pahoa Boys finished third. <br /> In the Boys High School Division, Stingrays defeated Rebels <br /> 21-13 to claim top honors. What Evas finished third. <br /> In the Elementary Girls Division, Keaau outplayed Cougars <br /> Green 15-9 for the title. Kamehameha finished third. <br /> In the Intermediate Girls Division, Zoom 1 outlasted <br /> Kamehameha 10-6 in the finals. Zoom 2 finished third. <br /> In the Girls High School Division, Stingrays 1 claimed the <br /> title with a 14-9 win over Stingrays 2. Keaau finished <br /> third. <br /> "The goal of the 'Click It or Ticket' 3-on-3 Tournament was <br /> <br /> to increase awareness of the seat belt law requiring youths <br /> <br /> and teens in the front and back seats to be belted, " said <br /> <br /> Sergeant Randy Apele of the Traffic Section. "Ultimately <br /> it's about reducing injuries and saving lives." <br /> <br />
