Establish, implement and maintain physical standards for <br /> employment. <br /> b. Develop policies and procedures in cooperation with the <br /> Safety Coordinator and the Equal Employment <br /> Opportunity/Affirmative Action Officer to address risks <br /> associated with diseases, substance abuse and other <br /> health-related issues. <br /> 8. County Physicians shall: <br /> a. Review workers' compensation claims and advise Safety <br /> Coordinator on payment. <br /> b. Review physical standards for employment. <br /> c. Conduct pre-employment physical examinations and advise <br /> appointing authority on risks of hire. <br /> VI.. Self-insurance Fund <br /> <br /> 1. Ordinance 86-35 (Section 2-156, Hawaii County Code) established a <br /> self-insurance fund for the County, funded by an initial <br /> appropriation of $500,000. <br /> 2. When the fund balance is less than $3,000,000, the self- <br /> insurance fund may be used only to pay claims, settlements, and <br /> judgments exclusive of workers' compensation claims against <br /> the County where the amount of such claim, settlement, or <br /> judgment is in excess of $1,000,000. <br /> When the fund balance is $3,000,000 or more, the self-insurance <br /> fund shall be used to pay all claims, settlements, and judgments <br /> against the County, exclusive of workers' compensation claims. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE: REVISION NO.:.
