The small farm parcel I have owned now for 14 years on Pepe'ekeo and Aba Point area is surrounded by Con- tinental Pacific's re-zoning and Land Use projects within the ahupua'a of Kahua where I grow mostly 'awa and duri- ans. Here the other farmers, property owners and residents see Continental Pacific as excellent neighbors who have consistently come to our aid with help from their workers and heavy equipment to clear fallen trees, improve road ac- cess, and cut back evasive weeds so we can plant our crops. In my own short history with Continental Pacific I have seen only positive changes all around my farm from them. The shoreline access plan they have worked out allows a generous amount of wide, lateral shoreline access area to be kept open along both sides of the old mill area. In short I support the changes requested, by Continental Pacific, of the Planning Committee. The amount of diversified agriculture down there has already increased since Continental Pacific bought the land. Ultimately all the changes Continental Pacific is asking for will result in less industrial zoning and more opportunity for small farms, rea- sonably sized home-sites, and already a far cleaner shoreline area.. In conclusion, change along this coast in inevita- ble. Continental Pacific bought the land, they are following existing laws to develop it and they are good neighbors.
