Arakaki <br /> And Council Members~~~ <br /> FROM: John Ray, Council Memb~ J'IC,/ <br /> RE: Bill Relating to Appropriation of Funds to Nonprofit Organizations <br /> As mentioned' in the Council meeting of June 2, 1997, a change to Chapter 2, Article 25, Hawaii <br /> County Code, would need to be made to accommodate the amendments made to the Operating <br /> Budget FY 1997-98. The attached bill clarifies the awazding of a grant to be an appropriation to <br /> a nonprofit organization that serves a public purpose. A contract would not be executed in the <br /> case of a grant.
