As you continue your review, <br /> we would like you to wnsider amendments around the Honokohau Small Boat Harbor at Kealakehe. <br /> We ask for your support in expanding the resort and other urban General Plan (GP) designations on <br /> state (DLNR) lands amend the Hanokohau Small Boat Herber. These GP designations will allow us <br /> to move forward with the development of the site. <br /> As you know, the Board of Land and Natural Resources (BLNR) recently conducted public meetings <br /> relative to its desire to make spproximatdy 350-acres of state land available for appropriate <br /> developmetn. We held a separate meeting specifically to get public input on potential uses for the site <br /> and heard from the public the desire to expand small boating facilities, including an expanded marina. <br /> In addition, the cownuoity expressed support for a masteo-plamted mix use development, including <br /> resort, commercial and recrcational uses. <br /> We recently concluded an RFP process to select a developer to implement this plan and arc starting <br /> negotiations on a lease for the sites The BLNR selected Jacoby Development, Inc. (JDI) to develop the <br /> site. I understand they have discussed with you certain GP amendments noting an expanded harbor, <br /> resort and urban uses, with an open designation along the shoreline, I believe these are consistem with <br /> the master-planned developme~ envisioned by the BLNR <br /> Thank you for your consideration of this request.
