From: HOK~DI@aol.com Ji~,~ :aft ~
Sent: Frida December 31, 2004 7:42 AM
To: counciltestimony@co.hawaii.hi.us
Subject: PLEASE approve a new general plan
~,Gi_
Angel K. Pilago and Pete Hoffman,
Chairs of the Committee on Planning
Hawaii Island County Council
Dear County Council,
As a long-time (15 years now seems to qualify as long-time) home owner and farmer here in South
Kona I urge you to consider the future of our island home carefully and approve Draft 1 of Bill 163.
We have been operating on a seriously out-dated plan for the entire time I have lived here!!
We MUST have a far reaching and growth regulating plan in place if we are to consider Hawaii,
especially Kona, a habitable place for kama'aina as well as newcomers and tourists in the future.
Draft 1 was done carefully and contains well-thought out guidelines for growth, considering the
many factors involved. Please, let's not continue to sell our precious land to the highest bidder. Let's
install a plan with a long vision that can guide us into a truly prosperous future with environmentally

friendly infastructure as well as slow and healthy growth.

Thank you for considering my opinion.
Diana Duff
Comm. No. 2.28
Ref, To: G
Ref. Uote
1
